YA Book Recommendation Time!!!

I try to get on here occasionally and recommend some good reads! These are books I enjoyed immensely and would thrust into the hands of unsuspecting bookstore buyers if I came across them. 

In fact, these would be books I would buy for strangers if the occasion arose (much like I did with WHITE CAT!) 

First, I want to tell you about the fabulous SHADOW & BONE by Leigh Bardugo! My book club will be reading this soon and I cannot wait to hear what everyone says… because I could NOT PUT IT DOWN! I tried, trust me, I did! But this book and its world sucks you in so deep that you’ll have a hard time pulling away. It’s unique with it’s Tzarist influence, dark fantasy folklore and glamourous Grisha. And the boys -both good and bad -will have you completely under their spell! But most of all, pick it up for the strong, independent -although sometime a tad misguided -heroine Alina. She takes you on quite  journey! 

Secondly, UNSPOKEN by Sarah Rees Brennan! Oh my, how I love Sarah’s writing! I only expect the best of Sarah Rees Brennan, and this new departure is nothing but! I can always expect humor, fun and a twisty plot… And let me tell you, I laughed so much, couldn’t stop reading and best of all didn’t see the bombs coming! It’s one big surprise of a book and the end left me a tad broken, Sarah. I might have shed a tear or two. I loved Kami but I loved Jared more. I haven’t been introduced to a decently good guy (in a paranormal book) in a long time. He worked so hard for Kami that I couldn’t help but want to love on him a good deal! 

Definitely must read! An unexpected kind of paranormal, if you will! Pre-Order it now! 

Have I talked about GRAVE MERCY before? No? Well….! Let me tell you something about this one… READ IT!!!! NOW! 

I almost don’t know what to say about this book, I loved it so much! I’ll say that it’s different, the setting’s historical in nature, the pacing is drowningly fast, the heroine’s so damn badass, and the story is exhilarating! 

I won’t lie, I saw that this book was thick and almost didn’t read it. Don’t be dumb like me, READ IT! Because, now, I cannot see my life without it! From the writing to the setting to the characters to the adventure… I couldn’t get enough! It is one of those books that will leave you chomping at the bit for the sequel. 

A few other great books I’ve enjoyed: Of Poseidon by Anna Banks, The sequel to the adult book Discovery of Witches, Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness and The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima.
